January Update

Now this I say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds. They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart. They have become callous and have given themselves up to sensuality, greedy to practice every kind of impurity. But that is not the way you learned Christ! Assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus, to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.

Ephesians 4:17-24

Happy New Year! I cannot believe it is 2022…

Over the holidays, our family (and extended families) all got COVID albeit mild symptoms, but now we are all symptom-free and excited to get moving here in the new year. I know many families have gotten sick over the past month, if you need anything please let me or any youth leader know and we will do whatever we can to help.

Erin and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary on December 30th and are taking a short trip to DC here in January. We couldn’t be more thankful to have spent the formative years of our marriage with this family of believers and continue to be excited for what God has in store for us this year.

Our youth retreat is coming up in February and the theme is: Kingdom Building. We are walking through the first half of Daniel and particularly focusing on what it looks like to be a modern believer living in a foreign kingdom/world. This is what Daniel did in Babylon. He lived for Yahweh in everything that he did and built God’s Kingdom in a foreign land.

This is the theme for 2022 for PCC youth group. No more excuses, we need results. We need to apply what we know, we need to do good works and serve God despite any circumstance that comes before us. God’s army needs to mobilize by out serving and out shining in the name of Jesus Christ.

As God’s people this is our King’s command, not his request. We do it because we love Him. We do it because He first loved us. We do it because He came for us, He died for us, He is interceding for us. We do it because we want to be obedient children to a perfect Father. Join us in making this our mission this year and beyond.
