Missions

We strongly believe God ordained the local church as the primary means to reach the world with the Gospel of Christ. This belief does not exclude us from supporting missionary efforts outside our church; rather, it is a challenge for us to see beyond our own church and encourage new church planting and growth wherever God leads us: inside or outside our borders. We focus our mission efforts toward developing local churches, encouraging new church planting and continued growth. We support many missionaries and organizations, some at home, most abroad, including two full-time missionary families sent from our home church to Paris, France and Cd. Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico.

Our dedication to being a missions-minded church doesn’t stop at sending support to those on the field. Every year we send short-term mission teams from our church family to serve with missions we support in Mexico and Alaska and we send a team to serve at an Ohio camp for the disabled each summer. With each new year we desire to increase our service outreach in whatever direction God leads. In 2006 we sent teams to Mexico, Alaska, Camp Echoing Hills, West Virginia, and Mt. Vernon, Ohio. Our teams held evangelistic outreach events, did construction on church buildings and missionary homes, supported the trained staff at camp, and on all the trips developed godly relationships both within the team and with the people we went to serve.

Whatever the destination or opportunity, our goal through the missions program is to create spiritual vision, both in our people and those we serve; to develop compassion for the spiritually lost; and to fulfill the Great Commission Christ gave us – “to go into all the world and preach the gospel,” in our community, in our country, and to the rest of the world.
